Social Bookmarks 1.2 with support for Google Reader/Buzz

After upgrading of my blog to BlogEngine.NET 1.6, I picked up a new version of source code and got my hands dirty with my modification to SocialBookmarks extension.

My primary goal was to add support for Google Buzz, using Google Reader sharing. I also did some refactoring (IMHO (In My Humble Opinion) better readability and increased maintainability with reduced code size by 1/3)), cleaned HTML a little, and worked on issue with images path, so you can now leave it blank.

Here is the complete file with all images (including Google Buzz and Facebook): SocialBookmarks v1.2.zip (104.31 kb). Just unzip it to directory where your BlogEngine.NET is installed.

Who is Who - Interview for eKapija

After all our last year’s success crowned by winning the Discobulos award once more, I was invited for an interview with eKapija, one of the most appreciated Serbian business online magazines. It was a great honor to be offered such an opportunity, especially for “Who is who” section.

After the interview was published I was surprised to see it rapidly become quite popular, later the article of the month in its category and eventually the most popular interview ever published on eKapija.

BlogEngine.NET 1.5 with Social Bookmarking and Facebook support

Today I upgraded my blog to BlogEngine.NET 1.5.

I installed some extensions. I added the extension for Social Bookmarking (http://www.dannydouglass.com/post/2008/01/15/Add-Social-Bookmarking-Links-To-Your-Blog.aspx). It was missing Facebook sharing functionality, so I made some modifications to it, and notified the author. I hope he includes Facebook support in new version.

I am attaching just the archive with changes (C# file and 2 images): SocialBookmarks Extension - Modification.zip (7.48 kb)

Delta Sport again wins Diskobolos, this time in finances category

For the second year in a row Delta Sport has won the International ICT Award, Diskobolos (Discobolus), this time in finances category. The Diskobolos award is given by JISA (Union of ICT Societies of Serbia) for the best achievements in the usage of information and communication technologies in almost all fields of social and business life.

This year we entered the finals with our successful upgrade from version 3 to version 5 of Microsoft’s flagship ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009). Microsoft has elected us as the best case study among 37 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and made a video case study about our epic ERP upgrade project.

At the official ceremony in the Continental Hotel, on behalf of the company, I received the award. Once again (like last year), I would like to emphasize that this awards is result of work of the whole company.

Dynamics AX 2009 Shortcuts

I am a big fan of keyboard shortcuts, since they increase developer and user productivity greatly. The shortcut wallpapers for Visual Studio and ReSharper are especially nice, since they come in one page flavor.

I always missed something like this for Dynamics AX 2009. We had some version that was created by Vanya Kashperuk (http://kashperuk.blogspot.com/2008/07/microsoft-dynamics-ax-2009-keyboard.html), so I converted it to one page format. Unfortunately we ended up with two pages (one for developers and one for end users), but it looks very nice, and the team likes it.

Here is the link for download: DynamicsAX 2009 Shortcuts.pdf (270.14 kb)

Please use, share, and if you come up with better version, send us info.

Microsoft Sinergija (Synergy) 2009

This year the Synergy (Sinergija) had two days of lectures, instead of three days like in previous years. I held three lectures this time:
  • The Big Jump - From “Axapta 3.0” to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009
  • Scrum with Team Foundation System 2010
  • Maintainable and Robust Development with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
I was pleased to see that this year we had foreign guests attending the lectures, including my lecture on Scrum that I held in English in the manner of a friendly host.

What I am most proud of, among my this year’s efforts concerning the Synergy is that my role as coach was crowned by the fact that I had trained one of my associates so that he was able to hold a lecture all on his own, after just a few words of introduction by myself.

Our project as Microsoft Case Study

Our successful upgrade from version 3 to version 5 of Microsoft’s flagship ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009) has been elected by Microsoft as the best case study among 37 countries of Central and Eastern Europe. This was an epic achievement in the world of ERP systems.

Metia, a notable PR agency, has made a video about us to document our success. Their London-based employees were our guests and they were astonished by the project we did, by our company, as well as by our country.

Please visit the link below to see the excellent video that they produced: www.microsoft.com/casestudies/Case_Study_Detail.aspx?CaseStudyID=4000005626 (there is a link on right sidebar that says "Play Video")

First CodeCamp - Serbia

It was a great pleasure to hold the lecture on Agile Software Development with Visual Studio at first ever Serbian CodeCamp which was sponsored by INETA.

I was happy to be invited and glad to see that many people attended this event. I would emphasize that the wide variety of subjects that was covered by this lecture gave it a highly exciting scent.

Dynamics Convergence – Vienna

In the light of the great success of our upgrade from version 3 to version 5 of Microsoft’s flagship ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, I’ve had the honor to be invited to Microsoft’s Dynamics Convergence conference in Vienna and tell the story of our success. Numerous guests attended this event and the highly anticipated new features of this ERP system seem truly exciting.

I presented our upgrade project and success with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 as a chat and talk session with Microsoft host as part of Addressing Business Issues with Microsoft Dynamics AX session. The fact that most people found formidable after the session, was that our development team was extremely a small one, as well as the fact that the downtime of the business due to the upgrade process was less than two days – moreover, less than one weekend.

Scrum Gathering – Munich

Due to the changes in the upper structure of the Scrum Alliance, this gathering was remarkable in many ways. We were given the unique opportunity to get to know the members of the board of directors of the Alliance, and learn their ways of using agile techniques to receive feedback.

The scheduled lectures were quite educational, also other events that took place were extremely interesting. However, the highlight of the event for me was having the chance to speak to Jeff Sutherland (one of the inventors of the Scrum software development process) in person.
